Statement chairs is an ode to the experimental chair, the unexpected chair, the activist chair, and the chair in art. It brings together more than a hundred surprising chairs that are progressive in material and technological or social terms. Designers, artists and users speak about the many forms and meanings of this ubiquitous seating object. Centraal Museum shows over a hundred surprising chairs, that broaden our horizons, raise questions and expose social issues. In short: chairs that make a statement!

Kunstrai 2023
In collaboration with Hama Gallery We presented 'Fruits of the Loom' In this work, Abouzahra refers to how one makes generational choices that will influence future generations. The femininity and fertility in the triptych, symbolise this inheritance. The interior design of the booth was custom characteristic Mina Abouzahra. In addition, we showcased some of my earlier work at Focus Marokko – Rencontre Artistique. Galerie 158 curated by Abdelkader Benali & Myriam Sahraoui.

Creative Citizen of Honour - GLUE 2022
We were honoured to be one of the four Creative Citizens of Honour for the 2022 edition of GLUE, a four-day design event held in Amsterdam, together with designers Nikki Gonnissen and Thomas Widdershoven and cultural entrepreneur Suzanne Oxenaar.

"We have to celebrate and cherish the creativity, diversity and identity of Amsterdam because a rich and diverse cultural climate is a precondition for a healthy city and future." said the founders of GLUE, David Heldt, Janine de Jong-Meuwese and Guus van Maarschalkerweerd. As a studio, we share this vision. We hope our position will inspire young creatives with a bi-cultural background and stimulate more cross-cultural collaborations.

GLUE took place from September 15th - September 17th 2022

Het Andere Verhaal, an exhibition at the Cobra museum.
From April until September 2022, @Abdelkader.Benali filled the @Cobramuseum of Modern Art in Amstelveen with Moroccan art. For the first time in the Netherlands, some 40 Moroccan artists will be brought together to provide an overview of the development of Moroccan modern art from the country’s independence in 1956 to the present day. This made me feel extra proud to be part of the exhibition 'The Other Story' at Cobra Museum of Modern Art. An exhibition that centers around the role of Moroccan art for the Modern art scene. An important and groundbreaking topic, both for the Modern Art scene and the Moroccan community.
