Choosing the right size rug for your room
A rug really ties a room together. Rugs add warmth and a sense of comfort into your home. In fact, the rugs embed and define your space. Avoid that dreaded 'too small a rug' with our easy tips on how to select your space's perfectly sized rug.
Living Room: Select a rug that anchors your seating arrangement. Make sure that - at least - the front two legs of your sofa and main chairs fit on the rug. Leave at least a 30 cm border between the rug and the walls.
Dining Room: Choose a rug that extends out at least 60cm on each side of your table to leave room to pull out chairs. Most dining tables will need a rug that is at least 250cm wide.
Bedroom: Place the rug under at least two thirds of your bed, or under the entirety of the bed along with the bedside tables. Allow 60cm to 90cm on each side of the bed to provide a soft landing for your feet when you get out of bed.
