Mina combines the minimalist timeless frame of the Wim Rietveld with various Moroccan vintage fabrics. The contrast and style of Mina Abouzahra is recognizable in the modernist armchair from the Moroccan textiles with tribal parts of a carpet, a vintage caftan, parts of a traditional costume full of symbolism, worn, used and reused. And vintage fabrics used to dress the frame adding elegance and comfort.
The weave of this chair was designed by Mina Abouzahra herself and fits the style of the Amizmiz rug. It was handwoven by the Amazigh weavers in Taznakht, Morocco.
Wim Rietveld is the son of the world famous architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld. Who was awarded chair the Signe d'Or in 1959. For this chairs design the chair is still popularas a collector's item because of its timeless design. The chair is widely covered and collected thanks to its timeless design.
