ABOUZAHRA CUSHION

ABOUZAHRA CUSHION
The textile used for these cushions is called a "HEIK". This hand-woven colourful throw comes from a small town in southern Morocco called "Boujad" and is tied around the waist as part of a traditional costume.
In Paris, fashion designers use the HEIK to make bomber jackets, shoes and other items. In addition, they are used as: plaid, curtain and tablecloth. They are all unique pieces, worn by and made by a lady.
The felt side of the cushion is made by Kvadrat. This Danish textile manufacturer mainly uses wool from New Zealand. The felt is durable and colourfast.
The traditional Moroccan hand-made fabric and the contemporary machine produced textile are both durable, colourful and represent the marriage of different worlds.
Note: because these cushions are handmade, the appearance may vary slightly from the photo's.
