MADE TO ORDER

Atlas Fields no.1 is a limited edition designed by Edith van Berkel to celebrate 5 years of OSMB. This rug is about the deeply rooted cultural craft of knotting by the Amazigh hands of women in the Atlas. Breathing the landscape colours of the mountains, the sheep herded and the Moroccan wool spun by hand.

Edith van Berkel about Atlas Fields no.1: “It has been wonderful to be able to develop new work in collaboration with OSMB in Marocco. The hands of the women of Taznakht brought me new insights in the deep rooted social and cultural context and traditions in this area. Knot by knot a rug will grow, rituals alongside during the process which enables to connect and bring harmony. With this new Limited Edition rug with respecting craftsmanship and character, an interpretation is made in a contemporary light.”
